this is the man who is solely responsible for introducing me to the elephant six recording company, when i was just an impressionable girl of the age of eighteen.  he was a sort of surfery fellow; he and his colleague would climb skinny trees.  i want to get in touch with him so badly, but i cannot find him at all online.  although, through my super interweb lurking abilities, i have located his colleague who was also hired to work on the film on facebook, but i feel odd asking if he has any way of getting in touch with him, especially considering that he is not “friends” with anyone who worked on the film we worked on together, and the likelihood of him remembering some random girl he met ten years ago and worked on a film with for two weeks is rather unlikely.

but anyway, this guy said to me, after he had played oh comely on the guitar for me “oh maria, you have to go to that record store you’re always going to, and get this album by this band; it will change your life.  and they’re part of this whole group of bands and they are absolutely perfect for you and you’ll be so happy with them.”

he was also the last person i sang with and who heard me sing until last year, and whilst we were singing beatles songs (norwegian wood, i believe), i got slightly confused (i was rather inebriated; the crew had purchased a bottle of vodka for my friend and i to share) he said “oh please don’t stop singing, you have the most beautiful voice.”

also i had a really terrible crush on him because he had a nice laugh and kind eyes, and that’s basically all it takes.  and one time he chased one of the other guys working on the film who had thrown a water balloon at me.  a+ guy.

(the photo is cut out because i was going to make a huge, absurd collage of the film’s production [i have at least a hundred photos from it], but it never happened).
