Bill Doss
ink and watercolour on paper
5x7”
the drawing of julian i did for otter.
acrylic, ink, and graphite on canvas paper.
this is on my wall.
my incredibly sweet and equally as lovely rabbit friend sent me the nicest package. it contained prints of these two pages of myself and the deer from the sketchbook she submitted to the sketchbook project (which is currently on tour and maybe coming to a town near you!), an original drawing of the deer that is absolutely perfect, and a set of two mixes, the first of which i listened to tonight and the second of which i will listen to tomorrow. both prints and the drawing have been framed temporarily (and rather poorly, in $3 frames i bought at target forever ago to put kurt halsey frederiksen postcards in that aren’t really applicable anymore), and are currently hanging rather haphazardly on thumbtacks on the wall next to my bed, until i make enough room on either the bookshelves or dresser in my room for them, or i find a hammer and the picture hooks and decide on a more permanent location. i would provide actual pictures of the prints and drawing, but the lighting in here is not so great at night, so perhaps i will wait until the light of day.
it was wonderful to receive such a nice package at the end of another long week. all the weeks are long and all the things are strange, but at least i have some genuinely kindhearted souls in my life.
Coquelicot (asleep in the poppies)
watercolour and ink on paper
by Heather Rose (for the OZ theme show at 301 Gallery)
here is one of the things that’s been consuming all of my time lately. finally finished. there was a point where i actually drew out every single poppy flower in the field, thinking that it would look really awesome. it didn’t. so i bleached it and started over.
