Happy birthday Brooklyn Bridge! Today in 1883 our lovely bridge opened to the public. The NY Times has the short history of the day. Or, come over...

i wish it was known when this current batch of jeff mangum shows went on sale that the music tapes were going to be opening. i considered buying a ticket for this saturday’s show in brooklyn, but didn’t because i didn’t know the music tapes were opening and everywhere is so far away from maine. i would give up limbs (bodily and/or treeish) and/or organs (bodily and/or musical) in order to see the music tapes (and jeff) that close to my birthday. or maybe they could just come up and play for my birthday, since the music tapes are done opening for jeff on the 28th (and jeff actually has the thirtyfirst off, but i don’t think that’s terribly realistic*). HINT HINT HINT HINT HINT HINT HINT HINT HINT.
speaking of january thirtyfirst; flurries! the birthday forecast is getting sort of better? and it’s supposed to snow tonight into tomorrow, so i am hoping i get to stay home from work, because everybody else has missed work this week except for me and i’m feeling left out.
also i just realized that i haven’t seen any of my maine-based “friends” since october. that is a thing that is real and ridiculous and kind of awful, but bangor is an awful town and nobody wants to come visit me in winter’s porch. and all of my out of state friends are far away, and the distance becomes even greater in the winter. i suppose it’s alright, since i have all sorts of weird projects, but i’m understandably pretty lonely.
i added links to commonly tagged things of interest (or things that i think people may find interesting) on the right side of my tumblr page. and i really want to change the theme, since this theme sometimes stretches images to fit, and it makes them look awful.
okay.
(*not that it’s much more realistic for me to think that the music tapes would randomly show up at my house for my birthday, but who knows, right? right. plus, being realistic is not a strong suit of mine.)
