swarbles.

a mostly goodhearted twentynine year old lady who lives in a land where it's winter half the year. starlings nest in the soffit along the side of my house and mourning doves roost under the roof above of my door stoop. i fall in love all the time.

sometimes i sing.
sometimes i make things.

proof that my father is the best father: he still has (or at least he did as of late 2010/early 2011, and i’m pretty sure he hasn’t sold it [i think he would’ve mentioned doing such a thing to me]) a banjo neck stashed in away at his house for this banjo.
also we just acquired two band saws from a family friend who was going to sell them for scrap and we’re talking about making banjos (at least necks) and i’m really nerdily excited about it.  i’ve been wanting to put together my own banjo for a while, since my dad has done a few of his own that have come out really beautifully.  i want to start carving and engraving wood.  i think i would be good at it because i like doing monotonous things that other people find tedious and boring that yield pretty results, and i have a nice idea for a heel carving, but i don’t know anything about carving wood, so now seems like a good time to learn.
