swarbles.

a mostly goodhearted twentyeight year old lady who lives in a land where it's winter half the year. starlings nest in the soffit along the side of my house and mourning doves roost under the roof above of my door stoop. i fall in love all the time.

points of interest;
swarbles songs; songs i have recorded.
mariaface; a photo of my face for every day of twothousandandtwelve.
end thoughts; the thoughts one has at the end of the day.
things i made; self explanatory.

ever record something with your headphones on and think that it sounds pretty okay and then take them off and suddenly are overwhelmed with the fact that you sound a bit like zooey deschanel and not in a good way?  but you don’t care enough to rerecord the whole thing because you’re really upset but wanted to record something because you’re really upset and it seemed like you should do?  here is a mediocre cover of the song feathers, originally by man man, from 2006’s six demon bag.

you can download this cover, if you are so inclined, through soundcloud.

some photos of my studio

featuring:

  • the “queen bee” painting that is driving me insane
  • albino deer sculpture (best pawn shop purchase ever)
  • my encaustic painting “a sad story about a deer and a man” which is currently my header image
  • the blindfold that i accidentally took home after one of the music tapes lullabye events.
  • jaymar piano and 1960’s air organ that i’ve had for as long as i can remember, and my mother had as long as she can remember.
  • various little ceramic deer and rabbits (which actually belonged to my father when he was a child.. which is strange because he’s a lumberjack and doesn’t care for animals)
  • little print of my painting of Shelley
  • postcard signed by Alex Gray when i went to a ceremony last year at CoSM
  • photo of Julian Koster from the first time i saw/met him. with a cute little doodle and note he wrote on it the second time i met him.
  • my ridiculous collaged paint box covered in many noel fielding things, among others
  • Pluto (my banjo) and his new adornments made from fabric leftover after i re-upholstered my desk chair

is your chord organ a ge chord organ?  it looks just very similar to mine, but mine has black chord buttons.

i also wound up with a music tapes blindfold.  they left a green and white polka dotted ribbon in my living room and i kept it, since i didn’t find it until after they had left (along with a little green and white peppermint swirl candle and a broken christmas light that was left in a tealight holder on my hammond piper autochord organ).
