So, you may have heard that New York City has been hit with some snow. In honor of this event, here are 10 photos from our vast collections showing a blanketed Big Apple. The photos are mostly from 1860 to 1905, although we did sneak in a photo of the 1939 World’s Fair grounds in Queens covered in the white stuff. There are kids throwing snowballs on the Lower East Side, people sleighing through Harlem and Central Park, people shoveling out Madison Square, etc. Check them out - it’s all fascinating.
